Masking Material

“Masking Material” is a staged photography project I conceptualised and shot in 2020. Obviously the project was inspired by the ongoing pandemic that was unfolding at the time of this production. The photographs were created across three weeks from May until June 2020.

The project is a collection of self portraits displaying ten different masks, which are all made of mundane materials. The idea was inspired by some obscure masking methods that I had observed online. The goal was to bring this obscurity to another level and turn it into an artistic and amusing piece of work.
